AAG Seeks Feedback In Search Process for New Executive Director
As previously announced, after two decades of distinguished service to the AAG, Doug Richardson, will retire as Executive Director in early 2020. The AAG Council has assembled a Search Committee composed of current Council members and other experienced geographers to work on the important task of recruiting a new Executive Director. The Search Committee members are Sarah Bednarz, Audrey Kobayashi, John Kupfer, Glen MacDonald, Kavita Pandit, Jamie Winders, and Dawn Wright. The firm Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates has been retained by the AAG to assist us with the search. The Search Committee and our search firm are dedicated to an inclusive search that promotes excellence and diversity. At this stage in the process, our consultants Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates will be reaching out to representatives reflective of the disciplinary and regional diversity of the AAG by contacting individuals such as Specialty and Affinity Group Chairs and Departmental Chairs so that the search will be as informed as possible by your priorities. In addition, the general membership is encouraged to provide their views, and suggested candidates, through an online survey available until Feb. 13 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AAGExecDirectorSurvey or via email to AAGExecDir [at] StorbeckSearch [dot] com. Following synthesis of these inputs, a formal advertisement and application website will be launched. Thanks for your assistance in this important project. Stay tuned for further details.
