NOAA recently posted a Federal Register Notice announcing the formation of the new Advisory Committee for the Sustained National Climate Assessment. Nominations for the committee will be accepted through Monday, September 14. More information about the Committee and about how to submit nominations is available below and at

The Committee will provide advice on sustained assessment activities and products, including engagement of stakeholders, and will have fifteen (15) non-Federal members. The Committee’s membership is required to be balanced and take into account: viewpoints represented, functions to be performed, the interests of geographic regions of the country, and the diverse sectors of U.S. society. Members will include a balanced representation of experts in physical and social sciences, communication, education, and other topics reflecting the full scope of issues relevant to the sustained National Climate Assessment process. Interested persons may submit nominations for themselves or third parties at through Monday, September 14. Individuals may nominate more than one person.
