Geographer Receives Top Honor in Britain
Human geographer, Nigel Thrift, has been granted the highest honor in Britain. In the New Year Honors for 2015, which have just been announced, Thrift was awarded a Knighthood and becomes Sir Nigel. The honor will be conferred by Queen Elizabeth II at a ceremony later in the year. Thrift is one of the world’s leading human geographers who has made significant contributions to economic geography and non-representational theory. He has been the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Warwick since 2006 and this honor recognizes his services to higher education in the UK. Learn More.
