AAG Member Stuart Hamilton Awarded Prometeo Fellowship by Ecuadorian Government
Stuart Hamilton, Assistant Professor of Geography, Geography and Geosciences Department, Salisbury University in Maryland and AAG Member has just been awarded a Prometeo Fellowship by the government of Ecuador. Dr. Hamilton will be working alongside the Ministerio del Ambiente to identify the origin of sedimentation in the Rio Chone Estuary and developing a mitigation plan to limit future sedimentation. He will work in Ecuador for 12 months during 2015 and 2016. The Prometheus Project is an initiative of the Ecuadorian government, which seeks to strengthen research, teaching and knowledge transfer in specialized topics, through the linking of foreign researchers and Ecuadorians living abroad. It is aimed at universities, polytechnics, public research institutes and other public institutions requiring assistance in the development of research projects in the priority areas of life sciences, basic sciences natural resources, innovation, production, social sciences, education, art and culture.
